ENTRY TWO: September 11th, Two-Thousand and One.
Written on 2001-09-11, at 10:45 p.m.
I've changed my diary to black, for everyone who has been killed, or for those who have lost friends and family in this tragedy...This photo is the one I was talking about in my previous entry. It's the only physical picture I have of the Towers, so I wanted to scan it for everyone else to see. The date that was taken was December 18th, 2000. The city looks strangely calm in it. The visibility was a 9 out of 10, and the sun was still low in the sky. That's my New York. That's how I remember it. That's how I always want it to stay. But sadly, this picture is now a part of history, something to save, and show children 50 years from now, how it used to look before "that day". This seems so insignificant, but it's all I can do right now...like Matt, I can't give blood, and have no money to donate...I feel so helpless...
I just got off the phone with my mother, I was so glad to talk to her.

She had dinner with my aunts tonight, and thankfully she was able to let me know that all my relatives who live in and around the city are ok.

Frightening story though, My cousin teaches dance at a performing arts high school right across the river in New Jersey.

They had heard that something happened to one of the Towers, and went outside to see what was going on.

As thew watched the North Tower smoke, she said that one of her students remarked "Hey, that plane is flying really low."...

...which drew her attention just long enough to watch it rocket across the sky directly into South Tower.

She saw it.

The whole thing.

Along with a group of High School students.

That will certainly make you grow up fast.

I also want to say that I think both ABC News, and Peter Jennings are doing an amazing job keeping up with the latest updates.

It sort of makes you glad that we live in such a high speed, technology driven society.

And for some people, like "snailandsky", whom I have lost all respect for whatsoever, who would take this incident to take a soapbox against America, and in not so many words how our country deserved this, I would like to issue this statement:

I very very rarely swear, especially at people, but I feel this is warranted.

No amount of editing, or deleting entries can undo what was said.

Spend a few hours knowing your own Mother and best friends are somewhere up there, with no means of contacting them, then get back to me.

Be well...
